Tips For Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in Electroplating

• Addition of brighteners and other additives must preferably be done during idle periods.


• Addition of salts should be done after separate dissolution and filtration also preferably during idle periods.


• Brighener Concentrations and ratios of different additives must be controlled regularly. it is preferable to make frequent additions of small quantities, rather than "dumping" them once in a way.


• Filtration of electrolytes (plating solutions) must be done continuously or periodically, as requried.


• Removal of metallic impurities ("dumping") may have to be done continuously or periodically, as requird.


• Clean bus bars and connections regularly


• Check anodes and anode baskets regularly for proper contact.


• Check the condition of anode bags regularly.


• Check the output for rectifiers on a regular basis.


• Clean the rectifiers regularly.


• Keep the production, analysis, storage and other areas neat and clean.
