This biosphere reserve in Gujarat boasts of area of terrestrial and coastal ecosystems, that are internationally recognised within the framework of UNESCO's Man and Biosphere (MAB) programme. With a focus on conserving biological diversity, research, monitoring and providing sustainable development models, Little Rann of Kutch attracts visitors who would like to visit this last refuge for the Indian Wild Ass. The simplistic beauty of Little Rann of Kutch lies its large salt marshy environs and its birding views. A trail here would turn out to be a delightful outing for birding at the lakes and marshes and shall be very rewarding. In winter months, Demoiselle and Common Crane are seen here in large numbers. Flamingos, pelicans, storks, ibises, spoonbill, a variety of ducks and other waterfowl are also seen.
