| Students’ tiff escalates to clash in Kutch town |

| A clash broke out between Dalits and upper cast Darbars at Gadhsisa town of Mandvi taluka in Kutch on Saturday afternoon over some issue.
A couple of shops and vehicles were torched and houses damaged in the town. The dispute began with altercation between students from both communities and later escalated to rioting by mobs from both groups.
Police rushed to the spot to control the situation. There was also stone pelting by the groups. "We have rounded up members from both groups and are in the process of filing FIRs," said M G Chauhan, superintendent of police, Kutch (west).
Sources in the police said that cross complaints were filed by both groups and the investigation will be handled by P G Patel, deputy superintendent of police (SC/ST cell), Kutch (west).
