AHMEDABAD: Kutch police have detained two Kashimiri youths found begging in Abdasa. Nothing suspicious has been found on them so far, said sources, but they have been detained as police thought it unusual for the Kashmiris to come to beg with their families in monsoon, though it is not uncommon in winter. The youths hail from Khirsara and Vinjap villages of Kashmir's Kupwara district. They have been detained for interrogation.
Makrand Chauhan, SP, Kutch west, said that for about three days police had been aware of a few Kashmiri youths being spotted near Vayov and Kothara villages.
"We had different teams working on the tip and now we have detained these two Kashmiri youths. We have their aadhaar cards, and will let them off only after getting a clearance report from local administration of Kupwara," added Chauhan.
Kutch police sources said one of those detained seems to be a student, as they have found a college identity card from his possession. "We have found nothing suspicious from them. They have told us that they have come to beg for alms. Local police and special operation group (SOG) of the district are jointly interrogating the two," said a senior police source.
