| Two toddlers sexually abused in Kutch; boy dead, girl critical |

Two children, a boy aged 3.5 years, and a girl aged 2.5 years, who had gone missing on Wednesday in Ajrakhpur village of Kutch were found near a graveyard. While the boy was dead, the girl was in critical condition and shifted to Ahmedabad for treatment. A case of kidnapping and murder has been registered against unknown persons. Prima facie, it appears they were sexually abused. Police are awaiting post-mortem report of the boy.
According to village elder Dr Ismail Khatri, the kids were accompanying their mothers to their aunt's place around 11 am on Wednesday. While walking, they fell back. The women assumed they were playing. But when they reached the other house, the children had still not arrived. The mothers called up their home, but were told the children had not gone there either. Padhdhar police were then informed .
On Thursday morning, the villagers spotted the cousins near the graveyard. Kutch SP M S Bharada said that both the children seemed to have faced brutal sexual abuse.The boy's body has been sent to Jamnagar while the girl was first admitted at a private hospital and later shifted to Ahmedabad.
