Bhuj: There will be no Congress candidates in all the 15 seats of Mundra tehsil in Kutch district for the October 25 statewide taluka panchayat elections following the rejection of their nomination papers by the Gujarat State election department today.

The department rejected the nomination papers upon scrutiny as all the 15 candidates submitted the party’s authorisation letter alongwith their nomination papers late by ten minutes from the stipulated time till 1500 hrs on October 11.

The Bharatiya Janata Party had raised an objection against the Congress nominations based on this ground.
