Gujarat Ambuja Exports (GAEL) said that two wind mills of 1.250 MW each have been commissioned at Village Vanku in Kutch district of Gujarat on September 22, 2006.
On september 13, Gujarat Ambuja Exports, exporter of cotton yarn and processed products announced that it was planning to set up the country`s first maize-based ethanol and extra-neutral alcholol (ENA) plant at Nashik. The Rs 1 billion plant will be operational by September 2007. An additional Rs 2.25 billion will be pumped into the project after commencement. GAEL has lined up major expansion plans. It will invest Rs 3280 million in 18 months. The company is setting up greenfield projects of 500 TPD in Uttaranchal, and 500 TPD in Maharashtra.
The firm is also expanding the capacity of its maize processing plant at Himmatnagar. It is increasing the crushing capacity from 500 TPD to 700 TPD at an investment of Rs 200 million.
